Replace your speedometer sensor. I just had mine replaced in my '04 Impala. The sensor tells the tranny when to shift. It's located right in front of the transmission.
The speed sensor sends a signal to the speedometer to show the correct speed and it sends a signal to the transmission telling when to shift. If the speed sensor is bad the speedometer will not work and the transmission will not shift correctly.
Sounds like a grenaded transmission
You need to replace the speed sensor. It sends a signal to the speedometer and also sends a signal to the transmission on when it should shift.
The VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is probably bad. Also check the fuses.
Hopefully the simple solution would be the fuse 15a for the speedometer. If the computer doesn't read the speed, the tranny doesn't know when to shift. If the fuse is alright, you then need to check the speedometer sensor located on the rear axle hub. Check connections for corrosion and cable for damage. After that, good luck !!
The most common reason for an automobile transmission to shift hard is low transmission fluid. Make sure the transmission fluid is at the appropriate level.
The electronic sensor inside the transmission needs to be changed
On cars with an electronically controlled transmission, the answer is yes. The transmission may not shift properly.
You need to replace the speed sensor on the rear of the transmission.
check the fuses.
It fits but does not shift properly once installed doing some research but think I can make it work
It is on the side of the transmission were the shift cable hooks to it.
