On your 05 Accord, press and hold the odometer reset button while you turn the ignition switch to the on position without starting the engine. After 5 seconds the maintenance required light will reset.
With the engine and ignition off push and hold in the odometer reset button. While holding that button in, turn on the ignition but do not start the engine. After about 5 seconds the light will go off and the maintenance required light will have been reset.
It just needs an oil change. If you take it to a Honda dealership to get it fixed, they will normally reset it for you. On the 1995 Honda Accord station wagon, the 'maintenance required' indicator is easily reset by using a key to push in the little flat 'button' located near the indicator.
Push and hold the odometer reset button while at the same time turning the ignition switch on but do not start the engine. After 5 seconds the maintenance required light will go out.
IT'S TIME TO CHANGE OIL. THIER SHOULD A SMALL BUTTON TO PUSH IN TO RESET.
Press and hold the odometer trip reset button while at the same time turning on the ignition key without starting the engine. The maintenance required light will go off in about 5 seconds.
The maintenance required indicator is a reminder to change your oil. If you reset it (refer to owners manual) each time you change you oil, then supposedly based on how you drive it the car will tell you to when to change the oil. just a service indicator - probably an oil change reminder. on my 92 accord there was a little reset button near it (small and needing a pen or something to push it) to make it go away.
Two reset the maintenance required light on a 2005 Honda Accord all you have to do is hold the odometer reset button on the gage panel for about 30 seconds while the key is in the on position. Not running just in the on position. it will reset.
Usually it is pre programmed for oil changes and routine maintenance.
Press and hold the odometer reset button while at the same time turning the ignition to the on position. Do not start the engine. After around 5 seconds the maintenance required light will reset.
Press and hold the odometer reset button while at the same time turning the ignition switch to on. Do not start the engine. After around 5 seconds the maintenance required light will go out.
It means Maintence is required. Open your owner's manual and it will explain this in detail. If this is the same as on a 1996 Honda Accord then after you get your oil changed if you push the button that is right next to it it will turn green again that is my take on it. Mine turned from yellow to red and I pushed the button and it did nothing but after I changed the oil and pushed the button it turned back to green.
