The fish is very sick and stressed. There are a lot of things that can cause this. Here are some things to look for in your tank: * Any cleaning products that have been used near the tank, such as soap or bleach. If you think any got into the tank, do large water changes. * Anything you have added or changed in the tank recently (within 24 hours) * Ammonia levels (You should not be able to detect any ammonia. If there is ammonia in your water, do 25-50% water changes until there is no detectable ammonia and continue to do this daily until you do not see ammonia any more) * Nitrite levels (Like ammonia, there should never be nitrite in your tank. Do not confuse this with nitrate, which is harmless in moderate amounts. Follow the same steps for ammonia if you see nitrite.) * Temperature problems (too cold or too hot - an angelfish should probably be kept around 73-80*F) * Poor airation (If you have a filter and/or air stones, this shouldn't be a problem) * Disease (You will have to search for any symptoms your angelfish has shown over the past few days until you figure out what it is) Good luck!

If you have a lethargic fish, it usually means that the fish is ill, or there is a problem with your tank water quality

Why is angelfish laying on its side at the bottom of the tank?

Angel fish have been known to go into a stage of shock where they lay down on the bottom of a tank and look dead. Provided the water parameters are good for Angelfish (Pterophyllum sp.), if the fish is left to its own devices it will recover and settle down. If however something is wrong with the water parameters the fish will most likely die.

Why does your angelfish return to the same spot at the bottom of your tank?

I dont get it. Did your angelfish die?

You have two angelfish they seem to fight all the time?

Angelfish are very aggressive fish. They are also very territorial. They want their own space and the whole tank if they can have it. I'd suggest that if you have a small 3 to 5 gallon tank you get a bigger tank as that size tank is too small for Angelfish.

Is freshwater algae that grows inside a fish tank harmful to angelfish?

It is not harmful. But if you want to clean up the algae in the tank you want to get a pleco. They are very peaceful fish and will not harm angelfish. I have a pleco and three angelfish in my 35 gallon tank right now and they get along great!
