It is more than likely tour fuel pump. The pump usually has the sending unit built onto it. Running your vehicle with less than an eighth of a tank of gas allows your fuel pump to overheat. This will cause failure over time.
probably no gas, if there is gas then your gauge in the tank is broken or frozen
chk the ground wire on the harness to the fuel pump...........
A 1990 Jeep Cherokee malfunctioning fuel gauge can be caused by a broken ground wire. The gauge will not function if the fuel float in the fuel tank is broken.
What do you want to know?
ok
The gauge or sensor needs to be replaced.
Either the gauge is broken or the sender is broken.
Failed gauge, wiring, or level sensor.
I would assume that the wires are hooked up backwards
Your fuel sending unit is not giving the correct reading to your gauge
The most common cause for a 2002 Toyota Highlander's gas gauge to be stuck at three quarters of a tank is a faulty sending unit. The sending unit is designed to detect the current fuel level and relay it directly to the gauge.
The fuel gauge in a 2001 Cherokee could be having different readings due to a bad fuel sensor. The sensor is mounted inside of the fuel tank.
