The problem with the Australian flag is that it lacks meaning for the Aborigines, the original inhabitants of Australia. It does not reflect any indigenous beliefs or traditions, in either its colours or in its symbolism. Its design reflects Australia's British heritage and the fact that the nation was colonised by England, as it is dominated by the Union Jack.

Australia is also now a Sovereign Independent Nation and no longer a British Colony or Dominion so the current flag falsely implies allegiance to the UK .
