funny .. I'm having that same problem. underneath the dashboard on the passenger side in the blower motor, against the firewall are two plugs.. the big plug is for your AC .. the little plug is .. hell i don't know, but anyway look at that and see if it is melted or burned. that's the problem i have right now. could be your blower motor or it could be something that made that pop. i would think the fuse would blow before the plug would melt off, but apparently not :p
It is below the glove compartment. It is just to the left and above the right kick panel.
blower resistor is bad
Check the blower motors ground and power in the truck and the blower motors resister......
You can view the 2002 Ford Escort owners manual online at :www . motorcraft service . com ( no spaces )Click on Owner Guides( the fuses and relays section starts on page 122 )
First check the fuses. If the fuses are okay I would suspect the switch and plug had a meltdown or the blower motor itself is shot. If it was the blower speed resistor that was shot you would still have high speed.
ZX2 blower sits right behind/underneath the glove box on the passenger side. If your blower stopped, clean the contacts of the blower electrical connector first (and see if that helps) before you experiment with the blower; you may want to replace the connector if that is the problem origin. BKT
Sounds like a bad blower motor resistor block.
Start with checking the power right at the blower. Is there?
Need new motor mounts..... That's what was wrong with mine.
blower relay located on the engine compartment by the firewall
If not the fuses in both box's then check the ign. switch at the key.
Replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch
