Through the use of propaganda. Books, film, television, radio and other forms of media were poisoned with Hitler's ultimate vision and plan to rid Germany of Jews. Basically, he instilled fear by spreading lies and so the people were scared and believed him.
Hitler began his rise to power when he joined the German Workers' Party in 1919, which later changed its name to the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Over time he utilized his natural talents for public speaking to seize leadership of the party. As he spread his message throughout Germany, he cracked down on opposing parties, sometimes violently. By 1933 he was Chancellor and had provoked many Germans into a nationalist frenzy. There was no opposition to his use of the Enabling Act of 1933 to secure his position as dictator.
The economic conditions in Germany during Hitler's rise to power was very poor. The country was suffering from high unemployment and the burden of the reparations it was to be paying to the Allied forces of World War I.
