How Can an enlisted become a Real Ranger?
Well, do you mean simply go to Ranger school, or be in the 75th Ranger Regiment? To go into the 75th Ranger Regiment as lower enlisted, you'd have to enlist with a RIP contract. After you completed OSUT or Basic/AIT (depending on your MOS), you'd go to Jump School, then you'd attend RIP. If you pass RIP, you'd be assigned to one of the Ranger Battalions. Once you're promoted to the rank of Specialist, you can attend the Ranger School (whether you're assigned to the Ranger Regiment or not). If you complete Ranger School, you'll be tabbed and Ranger qualified. If you weren't in a Ranger Battalion prior to Ranger School, you'd then be eligible for reassignment to one.
How do you get into the 75th ranger regiment?
Not everyone in 75th Ranger Regiment is actually a Ranger. They have cooks, mechanics, and the same support personnel any other unit would have. So, you could get into the 75th Ranger Regiment that way. If you actually want to be a Ranger, there's a couple different ways to go. Personnel just entering the Army would have to go in under a RIP (Ranger Indoctrination Programme) contract, which would limit the MOS choices available to them. 11B (infantry) is the most common, but there'll also be medics, communications personnel, etc. After your Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (or One Station Unit Training for infantry), you would first go to jump school, then to RIP. If you pass RIP, you can be assigned to a Ranger battalion. If not, you'll be sent to some line unit. If you're already a noncommissioned officer or commissioned officer, and want to go to a line company of a Ranger battalion in a leadership position, you will first need to complete Ranger school, which is a requirement for combat leaders in the 75th Ranger Regiment.

You obtain your MOS BEFORE you attend RIP. So, if you don't pass, you'll go back to a job within that MOS. So, if you enlisted as an 11C (mortarman), then you'll get sent to a line unit as a mortarman. Getting a Ranger contract as a tank crewman isn't very likely, as you won't be able to enlist under a Ranger contract for occupations which aren't found in the 75th Ranger Regiment (they don't have tanks). Now, if you enlisted to be in armor, it may be possible for you to go to Ranger school once you make E4 or higher and get a Ranger tab, but your only possibility in a Ranger unit would be to be an instructor in RTB (Ranger Training Brigade), as again, the 75th doesn't have tanks.People who enlist under RIP contracts do so with the intent of going to a Ranger battalion - not everyone who actually attends Ranger School goes to a Ranger batt. or goes with the intent of going to one - in fact, most people who go to the Ranger school don't serve in a Ranger batt.Getting tabbed out as a Ranger is a qualification - it's not an occupational specialty (MOS).

There isn't an MOS for Airborne Ranger - it would be a Special Qualification Identifier which comes after their MOS. For example, Infantry is the "11" Career Management Field. A Private coming fresh out of One Station Unit Training would be awarded the MOS 11B1O, with "11B" being the MOS, "1" being the skill level - in this case, 1 to indicate ranks Private through Specialist, and the "O" is the Special Qualification Identifier - in this case, "O" means he has no special qualifications. Now, let's he attends and completes jump school afterwards. At that point, he would become 11B1P, with the "P" indicating he's jump qualified. So a couple years pass, he gets promoted to E4, and attends Ranger school, and completes it. At that point, he'd be awarded a "V" Special Qualification Identifier for "Ranger Parachutist" (i.e., Airborne Ranger), so his MOS would read 11B1V.
