There is an owner, a maintenance tech, studio engineers, and interns. Some studios will also have mixing engineers, and mastering engineers.

The owner obviously owns the studio and is typically also an engineer. The maintenance tech is the one that is responsible for fixing everything that breaks, which is a lot of stuff. Your engineers are the ones that sit behind the console and either record, mix, or master the record. Interns usually do everything else. This ranges from setting up the mics, to going to Starbucks 5 times a day. Some studios may also have producers but they are usually also engineers. A lot of the staffing depends on the size and budget of the studio.
