The Delete key deletes characters to the right or in front of the cursor. The backspace key deletes characters to the left or behind the cursor.
The backspace key deletes to the left of the cursor, and the delete key deletes to the right of the cursor.

It deletes text to the right of the cursor. If some text is selected, it will delete all of that text at once.

It sounds like you may be experiencing a glitch with your keyboard or typing software. If typing "frount" before a word is causing deletion of the others, it could be a behavior specific to that software or keyboard setting. You may want to check for any updates or try resetting your keyboard settings.
Backspace deletes the characters to the left of the cursor while delete deletes the characters to the right. (The cursor is the vertical line that flashes on and off where you are typing text)
You can use the ALT key with the left and right arrows to navigate backwards and forwards through websites.
While holding down SHIFT, press END (near home, insert, delete, etc.). Then press DELETE or BACKSPACE.
The Mac keyboard does not have a delete key. On MacBooks forward deletion can be achieved by holding down the Fn key and pressing the BackSpace key. Some applications replicate this operation with a Shift or Alt and BackSpace key combination but it is not native to the Mac's user interface.
