∙ 9y agoFollow these steps. First you should disconnect anything you don't need which is plugged in, like digital cameras. The mouse, keyboard and monitor are obviously fine.
- Restart the computer
- When the Dell logo appears, press F8 and wait. Be ready to press it because the screen only appears briefly. If you miss it you'll have to restart again
- Use the arrow keys to select 'repair your computer', then press enter
- Choose your language and regional settings. Press next then enter your administrative details if there are any
- Navigate to 'dell factory image restore', select it. Choose 'next' in the next window that shows
- Select the box that says 'Yes, reformat the hard drive and restore system software to factory conditions.'
- Click next one last time.
- Let the restore finish
- Restart
- Done
