Several chemical germicides, including chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, detergents (soap), iodophors (iodine-based antiseptics), and alcohols are effective against human influenza viruses if used in proper concentration for a sufficient length of time. For example, wipes or gels with at least 60% alcohol in them can be used to clean hands. The gels should be rubbed into hands until they are dry. Lysol and other disinfectants also kill the virus, check the label on the product, if it is effective on viruses the label should state that.
With chlorine bleach use the following as a guide for the concentration needed:
With household bleach, use a 1 part bleach:10 parts water for non-porous surfaces (tabletops, door knobs). Use 1 part bleach:100 parts water for porous surfaces.
Influenza virus is also destroyed by heat of 167-212°F [75-100°C].
Wash your hands after touching something that might have germs and disinfect it with Lysol or Clorox disinfectant.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has compiled a list of disinfectants that are effective for influenza viruses. There is a link to this information in the related links section for this question. See also related questions below.
nothing we know of its goes around yearly
Yes flu is a virus
Avian Flu is caused by the virus like Flu virus in man. This virus has evolved with birds.
There are some vaccines, but there are no such medicines that kills swine flu.
its a flu
The vaccine puts dead flu cells into your body. Because the cells are very weak, you immune system can completely kill that virus. After you immune system kills the virus, antibodies are still left over in your blood stream. So, if you are exposed to the flu, the already made antibodies can kill the flu virus before it spreads and gets too serious for your immune system to overcome.
No, the flu is caused by a virus.
How long does it take from contact with the flu virus to showing symptoms?
The flu virus is pervasive in that it is a common virus which is spread from person to person generally in the cold months. There are several sub-categories of the flu virus, and the flu shot will usually contain 2 or three of these variations annually.
Flu is always caused a virus, not bacteria, so no flu epidemic will be due to a bacterial agent. This is true of the 1918 "Spanish Flu", it was caused by a virus.
Influenza is caused by a virus. its straight up a virus...
The type of virus that kills bacteria is the bacteriophage.
the most dangerous flu on Earth is h5n1 the bird flu it kills 60% of the people it infects. This virus mutated from a virus that could only affect birds, H5n1 is an epidemic across asia. The h1n1 flu is the next most dangerous flu. In the United States it's become an epidemic. The Swine flu h1n1 does not have a high death rate and this virus mutated from a virus that only affected swine or pigs. Most people that get h1n1 flu don't die, but without proper treatment it can start to kill you within 2 days. Swine flew symptoms are same as normal flew but more severe.
