This depends on what you'd want. My recommendation is to get a team filled with different kind of types and have them learn different type moves to ensure a super effective on many Pokemon. You can also get a tank, sweeper, and an "annoyer" in your team. Tank Pokemon can take a lot of hits, but attacks are a bit weaker. Sweepers can attack Pokemon easily with high damage, either physical or special. "Annoyer" is to consistently confuse, cause to sleep, paralyze, etc. to make the opponent less likely to move.
Here is an example team of different types:
Infernape - Fire/Fighting
Gastrodon - Water/Ground
Pikachu/Raichu - Electric
Alakazam/Gardevoir - Psychic(Fairy)*
Tyranitar - Rock/Dark
Staraptor - Normal/Flying
*Alakzam is only a Psychic-type, but Gardevoir has a new addition to its type: Psychic/Fairy-type.
