Park the vehicle on a level surface, and shut the engine off. Wait one hour and remove the oil dipstick. Look at the level on the dipstick and add as necessary. Do not overfill.

The rear axle.
About 1.25 liters of oil goes in the rear axle of a Ford transit. It takes 75W90 oil when you replace it.
The 9.25 axle holds about 2.5 quarts. If you have limited slip you will need 4 ounces of additive.

It's the oil/fluid that is in the rear drive axle (and front axle on 4x4).
