There are a couple of things you can use. All of them are expensive and all of them have to be mixed 50-50 with distilled water. DO NOT, whatever you do, mix modern-technology antifreeze with tap water!
Your car came from the factory with Volkswagen G12 antifreeze in it. It's pink, and it's made by Pentosin who sells it as Pentofrost SF. If this is still available it'd be fine to use, but there's a new and improved model out there.
New Volkswagens have VW G13 coolant in them. This is purple, it's also made by Pentosin (who supplies all the European automakers), and it's sold by Pentosin as Pentofrost E. As long as you flush your cooling system to get all the old coolant out, G13 is 100-percent compatible with G12.
If it is a new beetle you use G12 mixed half and half with distilled water.
G12 the red kind
It's possible...my 2002 Saturn Vue takes orange antifreeze (Dex-Cool). To be sure, check your owner's manual. I have a 2002 Jetta that uses the orange stuff and they told me when I bought it that I had to use that kind. I don't know why the Beetles would be any different. Whether you "have" to or not I don't know, but I always have. --- NO! your new beetle uses G12 it is purple and it mixes half and half with distilled water.
It's a special anti-freeze thaat is hard to get, G12 something or other, never put any other kind in there.
In the radiator.
It goes in the engine compartment, but the coolant that you need is only available from the dealer. You need G12 coolant it can be purchased online and it mixes half and half with distilled water.
You Put The Antifreeze In The Coolant Resivore.. These Escape Don't Have A Radiater Cap..... Hope This Helps
Red, five year, hoat type. Also called G05.
A Chevy Cavalier can use standard, all-purpose antifreeze, so it's unlikely that the wrong kind was put in. However, if it is not diluted properly and the antifreeze is mixed with more than 50 percent water, the engine can overheat under some circumstances.
Gm Dex Cool or equivalent. The red color antifreeze.
Was built with Dexcool
To the left of the engine - in the coolant tank
