Adults might not, but babies do. I recently had a runt in my litter who was clinging to life. Trying to save its life, I warmed up some cow's milk in the microwave and used my pinkie as a nipple. It actually worked! The little thing was sucking milk from my finger. It is now doing quite well and has grown up like the others. And all the mother did was lick the milk from its face.
Our vet did not recommend it normally but when our gerbil was sick they said oatmeal made with milk would be alright to help him put on weight as long as we made sure to watch because like people gerbils can be lactose intolerant.
Both parents will care for the pups, so you need to do very little beyond providing housing and food. The pups will nurse for three weeks. During the first week the parents and baby gerbils should be left alone. Any changes to their housing, such as cleaning or handling of the babies, could stress the parents and cause them to ignore their babies. The only exception is to continue to provide fresh food and water for the parents. You should also remove any pups that did not survive. If the parents seem overly nervous, cover half the tank with a towel for them to hide behind.
You can buy gerbil baby milk at some pet stores.
I will feed with kitten milk or dog milk
The newborn gerbils must stay with their parents for at least a month. Their parents will take care of them, and the mother will feed them her milk. When they turn 3 weeks old, you can start feeding them real gerbil food, cheerios, and canary seed.

Platypuses are mammals so, like all mammals, they feed their young on mothers' milk.
