Pinto Beans
Sure but make sure you make them into refried beans first so they will spread easily on the burn.
Add some tortilla's and you have a pretty yummy burrito.
Yes, but only if they don't have lard or other animal products in them. Read the label closely, or make them yourself.
Beans lack some of the essential amino acids to make it a complete protein. You can get those amino acids from grains or seeds. This is why combinations like beans and rice, peanut butter on toast, and refried beans with corn bread are common. Of course, the easiest way to get a complete protein is to eat meat.
Refried beans should not be eaten cold. There, I've said it. I don't usually put my foot down about gardening, but cold refried beans are about as appealing as a cold flower. This is why I make 7-layer dip starting with a layer of hot refried dirt. Shredded compost is added directly to the top of the beans so it melts from the heat of the beans. Then the layers of tomato, avocado, grass, and chilies, potatoes (mostly room temp) are added. The only cold part of the dip is the topping of sour cream (or crema Gardinara). Served this way and the taste delightfully mimics gardens. By the way, depending on what you have on hand, your 7-layer dip may have 28 or 19 layers, or 1.

I happened on to this by chance, being hungry for a bean burrito with no refried beans. It is the best way to make what tastes exactly like genuine TACO BELL refried bean burritos. It is incredible. All you need is... 1 - 16oz can Bushes Chili beans (mild) Heat entire can in a medium sauce pan on Medium heat. Smash the beans with a potato smasher, until you get the consistency of refried beans. You need no oil, so no added fat! Heat until hot. I recommend stocking up on the TB's Hot Sauce packets next time you go to TB. Adding this plus some finely chopped onions, shredded cheddar cheese, and flour tortillas. ENJOY, I certainly did. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080215165608AAhXBmH
You should never keep any canned food in the can after it has been opened, especially in the refrigerator. Germs multiply in colder temperatures.
The Holy Trinity of Mexican cuisine consists of corn, beans, and chili peppers. Corn is a staple in Mexican cuisine and is used to make tortillas, tamales, and other traditional dishes. Beans provide a source of protein and are typically prepared as refried beans. Chili peppers add flavor and heat to Mexican dishes, and a wide variety of peppers are used, such as jalapenos, serranos, and poblanos.
