Your description is unfortunately fairly vague - it would help if you could give the approximate size of the bird, whereabouts you saw it (habitat, region of the US/world), what it was doing, etc.
However, based on your description, I would assume it is a Northern Flicker. If you look for it in a field guide, it is with the woodpeckers.

No. The black widow is a shiny black with a bright red hour glass shape on its back.

The heartless will take madallions from tge chest. You need to get them back using magic. Once you get all of the medallions back into the chest you can do physical damage to the heartless. Eventually the heartless will try to steal the medallions from the chest again. Go near it and press triangle when told to. Continue this process until all of the heartless's health is gone.
