It is aparently a House Cetepede. More specific a (Scutigera). They are centepedes that like moist conditions. They like to hang out in abthrroms, bedrooms and what not. They eat most insects and even most spiders. They actually are very clean and do clean your house up for you. But most people believe they are a pest and kill them. Me myself I do too.
They can bite it is possible. but veryv ery very rare. By that I mean you are about as lucky to get hit by lightning rare. They usually do not go after any human or bite them. They have been proven a little been venemous but not even to kill a human. They hvae taken down a very samll mouse before though.
Here is a picture of one to clarify that this is what you are looking at....

They are just like any other bug and hide in soem crevices and other small damp places. Under carpets. But usually are under your house in the boards and what not where it is damp when it rains and where it can feel secure and safe.
They usually start coming out around September and getting in to places when it starts getting damp but also still warm. Somewhere around September is when they are seen the most. But not always.
House and Garden.....
the largest centipede FOUND (key word: found) was at about 9 inches long in the UK. then, someone in Venezuela claims to have seen a centipede about 18 inches long. but just because humans have seen/caught centipedes this long, it doesn't make it the largest!
The house centipede's diet is other insects that can be found in homes. if you have other bugs like moths they can stop them from infesting your home by eating them. Also they can live up to 7 years.
Probably a 'House centipede' and while they are predators of insects they are completely harmless to you and I. www.pestcemetery.com
There are many types of centipedes. The house centipede is the Scutigera coleoptrata and the earth centipede is the Pachymerium ferrugineum.
