We're curious too! Our dog is nearly identical, but he's a mutt. There is a breed of dog called a Berger Picard, or French Shepherd, that's very similar. The dogs used in the movie "Because of Winn Dixie" were that breed.
Actually, the dog from the commercial is a rescue dog named Chopper. I'm pretty sure he is a mixed breed also.
According to the American Kennel Club's website, the dog does not match any of the dogs in the terrier group. And he is definitely NOT a West Highland terrier, as someone has claimed in a different version of this question.
I have a dog that is the idenical twin for this dog and she is a rescue also. Everyone said she looked just ilke the dog in the movie because of winn dixie. Her name is now Dixie.
She was found running loose in East St Louis and rexcued by a group called Stray Rescue. I also felt she was a mix, but she looks alot like the Berger's Picard
It looks a lot like a border terrier mixed with a schnauzer. Could just be a border terrier.! Google border terrier and look at the images for it . There is a blond colored one that looks a lot like "trouble".
Too weird our Dog who was a rescue dog out of south St. Louis looks just like the dog from the commercial, even rolls around and scratches her back like the one in the commercial. I wonder if our dogs our brother and sister.
Since so many people love the Traveler's insurance dog, there is a simple DNA swab test that can be done to determine the EXACT breed(s) that combined to make this particular dog. Shelter dogs are the BEST and I'm sure people would be interested if Traveler's confirmed what breed Chopper actually is.
It resembles a Berger Picard, a French herding dog and the dog in the movie "Because of Winn Dixie."
I thought I read somewhere his name is Chopper.
A really adorable Mutt!
Labradoodle
Mutt
Chopper is the dog in the Travelers Insurance commercial. Chopper is not a purebred dog and his exact breed is unknown.
It's not currently known what official breed Chopper, the dog from the Travelers commercials, is but he is a confirmed rescued mixed breed. Travelers believes Chopper might have a majority of Highland Terrier in him.
Splanchnic bone
A dog fetching a bone is a fine example of a treat. (for the dog)
"They are Labradoodle's. Chopper & Harrison are their names."The dog is definitely NOT a Labradoodle. Labradoodles tend to be very large and have very different features.
A Red-Bone Hound
Borde collie
It is Ray LaMontagne singing the song "Trouble," from his 2004 album of the same name. Travelers is coming out with some great commercials! The new commercial with the cat burglar theme features the song "Be Ok" by Ingrid Michaelson
the waltons dog reckless was a red bone hound.
If you are remembering a cute, white dog and a red dog house in the commercial, then you're talking about the Travelers Insurance "Cat Burglar Dog" commercial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPI-HMfPPvI
The dog see's a reflection of him with the bone and thinks it is another dog with another bone.
It is in the movie The House Bunny and in a Mott's Apple Juice commercial. Also, the Travelers Insurance "Cat Burglar Dog" commercial (the song's narration allegedly coming from the cute white dog)
