A cage that is for hamsters or gerbils. Something that has more than one level is ideal, to keep them entertained, but nothing too extravagant. Rotastak cages are generally good for gerbils but can come with an excessive amount of tubes/tunnels etc. gerbils just won't use that kind of thing.
You could use a plain one story aquarium as well, your gerbil would need some other things to keep it entertained as well though.
I recommend a pair of smallish aquariums as gerbils love to dig in the bedding and will push it onto the floor in a wire cage. i usally put 4 inchs of bedding on the floor as well as tissue boxs and toilet paper tubes. i wouldn't put anything in the cage that's not ceramic or metal unless you don't mind them chewing on it.
the most important part of a gerbils cage is, another gerbil :3
Gerbils are desert animals, but you can keep them in an ordinary rodent cage. As long as you provide food, water, and things to chew, your gerbil(s) will be happy.
Make sure they get exercise! They need it or else they get fat.
Also make sure they have gerbil food. If you need to, get rodent food.
For treats, i would suggest you look up good fruits and veggies because some can harm your pets.
PS: as for any pet, NO CHOCOLATE.
in a cage personalized for them.
the desert.
any kind!
No, they will chew endlessly on anything put in their environment and will inadvertently ingest pieces of nylon.
You put her in with a male gerbil.
you should really take it to the vet. i don't think it is a good idea to put the injured gerbil back in the cage though.
the fatter the gerbil, the thicker the bedding.
About once every two weeks.
Not always. Most seizures are harmless and your gerbil may get better in no time. After a seizure, you should put its tank in a dark, quiet space. If they have had long or multiple seizures, keep them in that space and try not to let anything make the gerbil stressed.
No, never do this. Hamsters are solitary, and it may attack the gerbil.
If you mean to ask, how do you remove a gerbil from its cage then i can help you. First of all if you have just purchased your gerbil and it has been put in a new environment you shouldn't pick it up for a couple of days. Gerbils are easy to pick up, all u have to do is just put your hands in the cage and wrap your hands under their body and lift them up. after you do it a couple times it will get easier. hope this helped! ; )
The chemicals in the pen ink could be potentially dangerous for you gerbil. Don't do it!
There is no reason to put a gerbil in a closet for twenty hours. The poor animal would be half starved.
Uu should start using gerbil balls when they are comfortable with you picking them up.
