Thailand is the home of Thai Food.
Some of the main crops grown and consumed (eaten) there are: Rice, Pineapples, Lemon Grass, Limes, Lemons and various other crops that grow NOT ONLY in humid tropical climates (since Thailand is close to the Equator), but its unique geography, topography and soils make it ideal for crops that thrive in temperate and semi-tropical environments. If they were so inclined, Thailand could potentially be a closed economy (no imports), while still maintaining the ability to cultivate and consume (grow & eat) any and all of the crops the people consume today.
In Addition, as a country, it is very unique, in that it allows for such a wide-range of crops -- not only food crops, but cotton, tobacco, rubber and numerous others; thereby giving them the unique ability to export the most needed (demand-heavy) crops.
Food served in Thailand is similar to Thai cuisine at an Americanized restaurant. Curries are popular, as well as spicy salads, and sweet drinks such as Thai Iced Tea.
