It is often difficult to decide what to eat after being diagnosed with Crohn's disease because almost everything can make a person sick. Crohn's is not necessarily a reaction to food, but more of a reaction to the body's inner inflammation of the digestive track. Therefore, it is hard to distinguish which foods might make your body more upset. Many doctors recommend keeping a food journal and documenting different symptoms you may get after eating certain foods. This may guide you to what your body reacts to the most, and what foods you could avoid. Common triggers include caffeine and foods that are highly processed or high in fat. However, some doctors do recommend a diet of "Ensure" or "Boost" drinks, where are liquid meal supplements that are easy to digest, and therefore do not cause very severe Crohn's symptoms.
what ever doesn't hurt you when you eat it.
but i suggest avoiding popcorn and peanuts, because its hard to digest any way, so it could cause a little trouble if eaten by a crohn's paitent. but it is different with each person who has it.
There is no longer a set dietary regime for Crohns patients. Individual attention to dietary factors may reduce symptoms and support the healing process. Improvement in nutrition also enhances the response to medications, including steroids. Individual experience is the most useful clinical guide in the selection of foods for each patient. Individual diets should be balanced against the possible production of symptoms such as pain, cramps and distension by high fibre and very spicy foods. Current medical maxim is "If it hurts after you eat it, don't eat it until your flare is over".
The best advice for any Crohn's patient that has a flare up is to avoid any kinds of sugars, including fruits. Also, it is very important to drink great quality, filtered water and consider having dairy free protein shakes.

When the Crohns disease is active and the bowel is narrowed low residue food is best.
Absolutely no food that may obstruct the bowel should be consumed, things like popcorn, nuts, sweetcorn and raw veggies are all high fiber and hard to digest.
The foods listed below are on a low residue diet.
GRAINS
enriched refined white bread, buns, bagels, English muffins (do not eat whole grain breads).
white rice, refined pasta and noodles.
Arrowroot cookies, tea biscuits, soda crackers, plain Melba toast
FRUITS
Applesauce, apricots, banana, cantaloupe, canned fruit cocktail, seedless grapes, honeydew melon, peaches, watermelon. (Avoid the small seeds)
All fruit juice is fine with the exception of Prune Juice.
Avoid berries and dried fruits
Vegetables
All vegetable juices
potatoes (not the skin)
cooked and tender vegetables including alfalfa sprouts, beets, young green/yellow beans, carrots, seedless cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, mushrooms, green/red peppers, squash, zucchini
avoid vegetables from the cruciferous family such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, Swiss chard etc as they are hard to digest.
MEATS
Any well-cooked, tender meat, fish and eggs are fine. Avoid gristle
NUTS AND SEEDS
Avoid all nuts and seeds, also foods that may contain seeds like granola etc
Dairy
Check with your doctors or go easy on dairy products as they can sometimes cause gas and bloating.
no i dont but i juice vegetables and fruit every morning is that a good or bad thing?
During a flare up, consuming seeds of any kind is a bad idea. Active Crohns disease causes the bowel to thicken and narrow and seeds that try to pass through the narrowed bowel can get stuck causing an obstruction.
Not that I know of. Yeast is a kind of food that makes bread rise! Emma
Light, simple food
Crohns disease is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the intestines. Crohns disease can affect the digestive system anywhere from the mouth to the anus. It most often causes ulcerations in the large and small bowels, typically at the joining of the two bowels called the ileum (located on the right side of the abdomen near the appendix) but can manifest anywhere in the digestive tract. Symptoms include but are not exclusive to, abdominal pain often severe, cramping, nausea, frequent diarrhea, rectal bleeding. These symptoms often result in severe weight loss, fatigue, and depression. Follow the link provided below for much more information. Crohns disease is an inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract that affects both children and adults. Crohns can affect any part of the digestive tract from the mouth to the anus. The cause of Crohns disease is unknown. Common symptoms of Crohns disease can include abdominal pain and tenderness, diarrhea, anal pain and or drainage, rectal bleeding, severe weight loss, mouth sores, fissures, fever, infections, bloating, gas and rectal abscess. Patients can also have problems outside of the digestive tract, including skin rash, joint pain, eye redness and liver problems. Crohns disease is a chronic illness, medical and surgical treatments can help control the course of the disease, but cannot cure it. Treatments now are allowing many patients to experience long periods of symptom-free remission.
I would not say that there is some specific disease that is associated with fondue as compared to any other kind of food, however, food can go bad, and you can get sick from eating it, whether it is fondue or anything else.
