Romans ate a wide variety of foods. The main staple for both the rich and poor was bread. But they also ate Omelette's (one was called Ova spongia ex lacte and was an Omelet with honey poured over the top of it.) Beef, Chicken, Pork were all common foods as well. Some of the more exotic foods included Dormice (yeah it is a type of mouse typically served dipped in honey.), Jellyfish, Ostrich, and flamingo. The empire had a wide reach and new foods and spices were brought to the city of Rome and distributed out from there.
Roman children ate the same food as their parents. There was no special children food.
