Sealing natural stone is advisable, to protect it against stains and deterioration from rain and sun. The best sealers for this purpose are impregnating sealers. They absorb deep into the stone, last a long time and don't change the appearance of the stone.

As long as it is not natural stone only the grout must be sealed.
That is a pro job, it will involve a lot of compounds & buffing and polishing.
i wouldn't suggest it. travertine is stone, which will expand and contract with temperature changes. if there is not a grout line the stone will crack

The alternatives to using muriatic acid to clean grout smears from natural stone is a mixture of water and vinegar. First wipe away heavy grout with a damp sponge, then apply the vinegar-water mixture to the affected area. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before using a scrubbing brush to remove the stains. pressure clean thoroughly and/or clean with TSP (trisodium phosphate) - rinse thoroughly, give 24 hours to dry. seal with a good quality sealer made for your specific type of stone and grout.
