The American Thanksgiving is an American holiday, giving thanks for all we have as Americans. Historically it represents the feast between the English Pilgrim emigrants and the American Indians in the New England area of north east United states in the late 1600s. The story goes that the Indians taught the pilgrims how to farm on the new land and the Pilgrims taught the Indians how to build better shelter. They exchanged food and many ideas at this feast. The main course was turkey.
