Depends on the state in which you reside and what the local regulations are. However, with a double major in psych/soc you can be a social worker for a local office in the DHS, or you can work as a rehab therapist with the psych degree. you can make decent money doing both but to rake in the large check you need a masters in both. hope that helps you.
You can work in a number of social work jobs at a city, state and county level. You can also do some types of counseling depending on your location. You can be an in house social worker for places like a battered woman's shelter and some halfway houses.
A BA in psychology is a liberal arts degree. That is, it is not a degree that specifically prepares you to do anything except go to graduate school. So, depending on your goals, you might want to consider getting a dual degree in something like business if you want to work right after getting your bachelor's degree. If you want to become a psychologist, you must get a Ph.D. Check with the American Psychological Association www.apa.org. However, Masters degree psychologist depending on the specialty can sometimes perform similar duties as those with Ph.D.'s but they are not technically psychologists.
Any job that requires people skills but does not require a license. If you have experience in something, you will be much more likely to get a good job in that area. Experience is just as important as the degree.
I went into behavior therapy for autistic kids with my BA in psychology and made about $15 per hour to start.
You MIGHT be able to get a job in a prison, but unfortunately a bachelors in Psych doesn't do much for you in the job market.
