actually baboons are NOT an ape. They are old world monkeys in the Cercopithecoidea superfamily of the Primate order. And I believe it is the Olive Baboon which lives in many countries throughout Africa. And a baboon would never jump on someone and start trying to mate. The only other primate other than humans who have sex for pleasure, not just reproductive purposes, are Bonobos. A baboon would have screamed and put on a sort of show so to speak if it felt it's territory or group was threatened. The group in the movie would have been much larger, although again, that's not even the proper habitat. That's Hollywood for you...
