Exactly the weight the manufacture recommends probably 5w30. I use Pennzoil brand oil and have never had an internal engine problem in 45 years. Also important is the oil filter you use. On a GM vehicle I recommend you use an AC/Delco oil filter. They are a highly rated filter. Also do not forget the very important Air Filter, Replace the Air Filter every 36,000 miles.
