In winter, cold climate, I use 5w30. In the summer i use 10w30. Before I change the oil I add a small container of engine flush, follow directions, and this removes any sludge from inside. Does a good job. All this as long as you follow regular oil and filter changes, say 5,000 kms ( 3,000 miles ) up to 350,000 kms ( 220,000 miles )now.
5W-30 is the PREFERRED oil
