I believe a person can go through a period of time where they have no friends. I believe that a person should have some kind of friend or friends at some points during their lives. However, there are people who are basically loners and they would rather be alone for whatever reason. So, I can't really say it would be normal or not to have no friends. It would depend on your circumstances.
