A famous or else highly educated and specialised scientist may travel around the world to give lectures at various institutions and universities. This could be scientists of any field, but they must be of a high calibre to be in such demand
A biologist might travel to study animals in their natural environment. This is most likely to be their behaviour, but there may be other reasons also.
A geologist may travel to an area of interest to collect a sample for a project, or some other purpose. Geologists are hired to monitor volcanoes, ground movement and displacement amongst other things. They may travel a fair bit if they are needed, and will spend a lot of time on the move. There are other jobs that geologists do to - something for everyone you could say.
A cosmologist of a high calibre may also travel a lot to visit many different telescopes around the globe, often in remote locations. Cosmologists study the universe, if that's what interests you.
There are likely to be others to add to this list, so don't take my word for it. Personally, as you can see, I favour Geology and can see many ways in which one could find an excuse to travel as part of the job, where in other jobs I am not so sure there is such opportunity, but in such a vast world of science, I am certain that anyone scientifically minded can find a place somewhere that they will enjoy.
That is someone who travels a lot; they trot around the globe.
