The noise of a peafowl, either peacock or pea hen, I think is best described as something between an industrial buzzer and the bray of a donkey. It has two syllables the first being higher in pitch and shorter. It is very loud compared to a rooster or barking dog. They, like other grain eating birds make little soft sounds while eating and hanging out.

As far as I am concerned, Peacocks make an unpleasant sound. They make a really loud and weird mewing sound.
