There are many types of Bagpipes from a number of different countries. The Scots' Highland pipes, which most people are familiar with, make a sound like an Accordion crossed with an Oboe.

In fact, like the oboe, the Highland pipes are a double-reed instrument, although you never touch the reeds with your mouth, as they are located inside the chanter. (The hollow tube with note holes that the piper has his hands on.)
