Black Widdow Spider PS:I am A student in the 6th grade
White spider identification
Jumping spider
It might be a black widow spider.
striped black widow
i always thought it was a white tail.
It might be a half albino black widow
red back spider
The spider that is black with a white crescent on its back is the Brown House Spider. This spider is often confused with the red-back spider.
I just caught a spider that matches this description. After looking online, I think it may be a jumping spider from the family Salticidae. I believe that spider is Phidippus Audax a.k.a the Bold Jumping Spider.
Black widow
either its a new spider species, or its just a make believe spider!!
a very cute spider
grass spider
AnswerIf it is predominately black and has the red hourglass on the abdomen, it is a black widow. It is my understanding that the stripes denote either a male or a younger female. I have also seen black widows with red dots on the back. The black widow with spots on its back usually has thirteen and it is called a European Black Widow.
My guess is that this spider you saw was either a Jumping Spider (quite possibly a Daring Jumping Spider) or a Parson Spider.
deer fly
It's probably the violin spider. That's just a guess.
black widow No this isn't a black widow...their red or orange markings are on the spiders belly since Black widows hang under their webs. The best guess is a jumping spider if the markings are visible when the spider is walking around. The Australian Redback Widow is the exception to the rule, it's markings as it's name implies on on the back.
