∙ 11y agoThe surgery to help correct "cross-eyed-ness" (astigmatism) involves surgically weakening the muscle (which lies between the eye and the bridge of the nose) which is causing the eye to turn inwards. Most people only have one eye which is astigmatic, however in individuals with both eyes pointing inwards, surgery will generally only be performed on one eye at a time (i.e operate on one, see how it heals over a few months, then operate on the other).
