So, to become and underwater photographer, the only training one needs is to obtain a Diving Certification, which can be obtained from a diving school. Check your local listings for places that offer these certification courses.
Underwater photography, however, is not just limited to certified SCUBA divers. One can easily take maritime photos while snorkeling or swimming. In this case, no certification is needed, only an underwater camera and a discernible ambition. Photography courses are, of course, optional.
