I highly recommend the Ford Motorcraft XT-M5-QS synthetic fluid. This has made an amazing difference in shift feel for many, many people. Including myself. You will need 3 quarts total. It actually holds about 2.6 to 2.8. Make sure the car is perfectly level and drain the old out. Fill it in the fill hole until the fluid start coming back out of the fill hole. Let that come out till it stops. It's now perfectly full (if car is level).
