I have wondered this myself. I have a Passport 8500 x50 and have driven right by a patrol car with the guy shooting his radar and my detector doesn't register anything. It seems to register when cops are shooting K, Ka, and Laser in other places. Unless they're not shooting at all and just looking like it? But that seems weird.
