I have wondered this myself. I have a Passport 8500 x50 and have driven right by a patrol car with the guy shooting his radar and my detector doesn't register anything. It seems to register when cops are shooting K, Ka, and Laser in other places.
Unless they're not shooting at all and just looking like it? But that seems weird.
the kinds of police patrol are foot patrol, horse patrol, scooter or motorcycle patrol, mobile car patrol, canine patrol, bicycle patol, marine(water) patrol - etc - etc.
Usually Doppler radar is used.
Radio waves.
Meteorologists use a special kind of radar called Doppler radar, which is based on the principle of measuring the shift in frequency of the radar waves that are reflected off precipitation particles. This shift in frequency allows meteorologists to detect the motion of precipitation particles, which is useful for tracking severe weather such as thunderstorms and tornadoes. Doppler radar helps meteorologists to provide accurate and timely weather forecasts and warnings.
No it did not because that kind of technology was not invented until WWII. At that time period when the Titanic was sailing it was not equipped with a radar.
