Those waves which required medium for propagation are called mechanical waves.

e.g sound waves, they need medium i.e solid liquid or gas ,to propagate. They cant travel through vacuum.

hope u understand that!!

Most waves that travel through a substance are what kind of waves?

Most waves that travel through a substance are mechanical waves. These waves require a medium (such as water, air, or solids) to propagate. Sound waves, seismic waves, and ocean waves are examples of mechanical waves.

What kind of wave carries energy?

mechanical waves carry mechanical energy and electromagnetic waves carry electromagnetic energy.

Waves that do require a medium are called?

Sound waves, they need a medium to vibrate.A2. Earthquake waves and other mechanical waves also need a medium for their transmission.Ghv. Tsunamis are a type of mechanical wave, which is the kind of wave you're looking for.

What kind of wave travels only through a medium?

Mechanical waves, including sound waves.

What kind of waves that need a liquid?

Mechanical waves require a medium, as opposed to electromagnetic waves which can travel through a vacuum.

What kind of waves need a medium?

Mechanical waves, such as sound waves and seismic waves, require a medium to propagate because they rely on the vibration of particles in the medium to transfer energy. These waves cannot travel through a vacuum because there are no particles to transmit the mechanical energy.

What kind of wave is an mechanical wave?

A mechanical wave requires a medium to transfer the energy it carries, unlike EMR waves. There are several types of mechanical waves, most of them being found in an earthquake. Mechanical waves are all longitudinal waves.

What kind of wave does a jackhammer make?

A jackhammer produces mechanical or sound waves. The mechanical waves are produced by the physical vibrations of the jackhammer, while the sound waves are generated by the noise it produces as a result of these vibrations.
