gm/Pontiac radio harness
The wiring harness for the radio in a 1991 GMC Pickup is going to be behind the radio. The wiring harness is plugged into the back of the radio. The fuse for the radio is in the fuse box located on the driver's side below the dashboard.

The radio on your 2000 Sunfire is probably reading "loc". If this is the problem, you need to go to a Pontiac dealer and pay them to unlock the radio. This is an anti theft device to insure your radio can not function if it is removed. The cost is from 10 to 20$
Hitting it is not going to fix it - that will only make matters worse. A possible problem is a loose connection inside the radio or in the dash. Remove the radio and check all its wiring and the connecting wiring that leads to the radio. You'll need an Ohmeter.
Usually when you get the radio the place you bought it will have a wiring harness that will fit the car. If not then go to a radio installation shop and ask for one. This will then plug right into the factory car harness and then you connect the radio to this harness. That's it. Good luck.
