Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event was one of the most important events in Earth history. When a massive asteroid fell on the coast of Yucatan in modern Mexico it eradicated about half of all animal species, including the dinosaurs. But many of other organisms, such birds, survived. Also survived many organisms with light mass: early mammals, insects, some reptiles, etc.
Extinction is the complete disappearance of a species from life. No more of that species is alive on the planet. It happens all the time; the normal rate of extinctions is called the background extinction rate. Mass extinction is when a group of extinctions significantly above the background rate occurs within a short space of time. The deifnition of 'significant' varies depending on the authority, and hence anywhere from five to over twenty mass extinctions have occurred on Earth in the known past - it is probable that more have happened, but this cannot be discerned from fossil and other records because of the size of the organisms involved.
These are called "mass extinctions", and there have been five such events (that we know of) on the Earth. These are generally caused either by astronomical impact events (such as the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs 65 million years ago) or massive volcanic activity. The causes of these extinctions has been a matter of some dispute, since they happened so long ago.
Yes, they died out in the late 1950's. The Russian Army played a major role in their extinction when the government wanted to reclaim large expanses of wilderness near the Caspian Sea. The Tigers were eradicated and farmers moved in to clear the land and grow crops, leaving nothing for what few tigers survived the Army. For more details, please see the sites listed below.
If an animal is endangered, it means that there are very few of them left and there is a risk of all of that type of animal dying. Killing an endangered animal would further deplete the number of these animals, pushing them closer to extinction.
All organisms help control the flow of nutrients throughout our ecosystems. If all the animals were killed, an essential part of this energy flow would be disrupted. This may cause a bottleneck effect where a large number of other organisms would also die. (For more information, look up mass extinctions and energy flow)

Thermophilic organisms are not killed by pasteurization.
If 12 people survived out of the 100 you killed, then those 12 are the only ones who are alive.
Well if their killed they didn't survive did they?
No of couse not!
It was thought that Anastasia had survived for many years, but this is not true. They were all killed in the Romanov massacre.

No one killed him. Ron Weasley survived the series.
Some people argue that the meteorite that crashed into the earth to kill most if not all dinosaurs. But others also suggest that dinosaurs were killed by bacteria that had developed to get past their immune systems.
