I don't think there is, or will be soon, a way to stop earthquakes. They are, I suppose, beefing up early warning devices to monitor quakes to TRY to warn people and also to warn about Tsunamis that an earthquake may spawn;but many of the effected areas are remote and with little communication.
Try installing latches on your cabinets to prevent the things inside from falling out. For anything heavy get some earthquake putty to secure it.
When it is earthquake, hide under a table to prevent you from having bruises from falling things. #1 tip
Basically the effects of the earthquake is a big tremor and things toppling over.
Paople were more worried about other things after the earthquake
If you are outside an earthquake then the best thing to do is not to go inside the earthquake zone - until the earthquake and aftershocks subside.
No. A tsunami is a giant ocean wave. A tsunami can be caused by an earthquake, but they are completely different things.
it depends on where you are and what number the earthquake is. if there is an earthquake go out into the open, out of a house and away from tall things like trees or electric lines!!
this question isn't discriptive enough of what your asking. there are many things you can use though for an earthquake but the object that mesures how strong the earthquake is a seismograph
people in Kobe can prepare by getting protective gears in school which they have done. Rebuild houses and building to make them more earthquake resistant and to make sure there is not fault in anything so it does not cause things such as fires!
Communication barriers are things that prevent effective passing of a message from one place to another. These things may include language and medium of communication.
"Seismic" refers to an earthquake, so seismic shaking is the shaking motion of the earth (and things on it) caused by an earthquake. There are different waves that emanate from the hypocenter, or point of origin.
