France has five main mountain ranges. - the Alps, with the Mont Blanc (Europe's highest point) are located on the border with Italy and then stretches into Switzerland towards Austria - the Pyrenees, separating France from Spain - the Jura, up north from the French Alps, on the border with Switzerland - the Massif Central, older mountains in south central France - the Vosges, lower mountains in eastern France.
