The Magyars instituted a mode of amphibious transportation utilizing a team of beavers as the draft animals. Their large flat tails made them especially swift down the rivers, especially when they would travel in teams of twelve or more. However, their stubby legs somewhat limited the speed at which they could travel over land. This was later resolved by the addition of a secondary team of fearsome trained badgers that served as both defense for the caravan as well as a means of swift transport over lands. There are still tapestries that depict gruesome scenes of Mongols being devoured by fearsome badgers when they launched an assault on the Hungarian caravans. However, this system broke down after Lord Kensington's Beaver discovered that the strateigic twig reserves had been seized by a band of extremist badgers. Lord Kensington's Beaver put out a full alert that resulted in a long and bloody conflict between the beavers and badgers. The conflict was later resolved by the signing of the Pact of Coloman (aptly named after the Hungarian King at the time, who played an instrumental part in the formation of the Beaver-Badger Alliance) which ceased hostilities between the species. Later, the Beaver-Badger Alliance (BBA) even went as far as to play a pivotal role in the siege of Serpysek in the Muskovite-Lithuanian Wars. The badgers rallied to the aid of the beavers after the invasion of the Muslim Marmot-Turks, and defeated them in descisive battle on the Great Plains of Alfold. The Beaver-Badger transportation system still exists, while outdated, mostly for respectful and historical purposes, although it is utilized as a major system of commerce in the more isolated regions of modern Hungary. The system even exists as its own guild within the BBA.
