In 1991 Slovenia was the first county that became independent and that's why Yugoslavian army invaded it. Same happened with Croatia, just a little later.
In 1991, four states of Yugoslavia declared their independence. These states are Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macedonia. Serbia and Montenegro were also former states.
Nobody. Slovenia Croatia and Macedonia declared independence in 1991 but the government did not want to allow it and it sent its army
Croatia was part of a socialist country called Yugoslavia until 1991 together with Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro.
Between 1918 and 1991 Slovenia was part of various forms of Yugoslavia. In 1991 Slovenia fought a 10 day war (and won) against the Yugoslavian (mostly Serbian) army. On May 1st, 2004 Slovenia joined the European Union. On January 1st, 2007 Slovenia started using the Euro as its currency. On December 21st, 2007 Slovenia joined the Schengen zone and opened its borders with other EU countries.
Most recently, Croatia became independent upon the collapse of the Communist Yugoslavian government in 1991. Their war for independence from the Serbs continued until 1995. The Croatian people and culture do have a long history dating back to the 7th Century, though.
The Republic of Slovenia is located in the southern part of Central Europe and was founded on June 25, 1991. The capital of Slovenia is Ljubljana.
In 1991, Slovenia went solo, and that was the start for a civil war which resulted in 6 separate countries existing on their own today: * Croatia * Serbia and Montenegro * Bosnia and Herzegovina * Slovenia * Macedonia
Croatia and Slovenia declared independence in 1991, Serbia disagreed with that decision and decided to keep Croatia and Slovenia in Yugoslavia at any cost. War lasted for a few years and then conciliation was signed in Paris in 1995. There was a lot of victims, mostly innocent and the relationship Croatia and Slovenia to Serbia is still tense. The reason for the declarations of independence by Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina had a lot to do with the rise of Serb nationalism, and the fears of each of the republics of Yugoslavia were that they were going to exist in a Yugoslavia which was completed Serb-dominated. The fears of what that could lead to were brought to light during the war, by the Serbs, by the Croats, and by the Albanian Kosovars.
Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) declared independence in 1991 while Serbia and Montenegro (officially one country) formed in 1992.
After 1991, Yugoslavia divided in what are now 7 separeta Countries. Serbia Montenegro Former Yugoslav Republic Macedonia Kosovo Bosnia and Hercegovina Croatia Slovenia
Former Yugoslavia is a former communist country that broke into four parts. These parts are now independent countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.
Croatia and Slovenia declared their independence in 1991 and Serbia disagreed with that decision. At the beginning there were a few conflicts and then it grew into a war between Croatia and Serbia. Slovenia and BiH were attacked too. But Croatia suffered the most. War in Slovaenia lasted for 10 days i think but the war in BiH was the most terrible thing ever seen. Serbians were killing everyone who is not serbian - croats, mulims and bosniaks. The relationship Croatia and BiH to Serbia is still tense.
