Population level ecology deals with individuals of the same species.
Added: Population is a group of individuals of the same species in a certain geographic area. Population ecology concerns itself with mainly factors that affect population density and growth in their natural environment. In a controlled environment by man, such as a zoo, there is controlled breeding.
I remember when a white tiger bred with another white tiger at the Cincinnati Zoo. The results was a white baby boy tiger and a sister that was of normal color. His name is Prince Charles. He lived to be 16 years old. In a controlled environment, many animals live longer, but in the wild, the strongest survive.
The problems of a controlled environment is this; they are still wild, like the story of the snake who wanted to cross the stream and the man who helped him. The snake bit the man after he helped him, he asked why? The snake said, "I am a snake."

∙ 12y ago"organismal" ecology is concerned with the evolutionary adaptations that an individual organism develops to help it cope with its environment. These challenges are for example conditions they can tolerate. For example, the great discovery in the Atlantic trench, showing new spieces of life that can only live in the trench such as the sea worm. (you can look this up for their name) They can survive in methane gases and sulfur that spews out of volcanic vents and they are wall to wall, all over the vents and can also tolorate the great heat, caused by these vents. This is such a great discovery that we now know more than ever, the great possibility of life on our near by planets like Mars and the moons surounding the gas giant planets in our Solar System.
