James Fenner (born January 22, 1771 in Providence, Rhode Island; died April 17, 1846 in Providence, Rhode Island) became the seventh Governor of Rhode Island, serving between May 6, 1807 and May 1, 1811. William Jones (born October 8, 1753 in Newport, Rhode Island; died April 22, 1822) succeeded James Fenner as the eighth Governor of Rhode Island, serving between May 1, 1811 and May 7, 1817.
