Prophet-hood was entirely the blessing of Almighty God. All the Prophets (May peace be upon them all) were prophets because Almighty God bestowed Prophet-hood on them. So is the case with the last Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAW). He was blessed with prophet-hood at the age of 40. The Arch Angel Hazrat Gabriel came to him and told him that he was a prophet, and that he should preach to people ONENESS of Almighty God.

We do know that Muhammad wanted to be seen as a prophet. Karen Armstrong (Islam: A Short History) says that one of Muhammad's greatest disappointments was when the Jews of Medina refused to accept him as a prophet. Whether Muhammad in his own mind believed he was a prophet and, if so, for what reason, are things we may never know.

  • First it is the will of God.
  • Second he was trustful, honest, wise, and never lied to any of his community people.
